(for children from mobility to preschool)
Creating a centred space for mums, dads, carers and their children to enjoy yoga together. Parents are given the chance to stretch, tone, breathe and reconnect with themselves, while children are allowed to either join in or play together.
Yoga asanas (postures), mantra, meditation and pranayama (breathing) to calm, nurture and nourish the whole family.
Ok, so perhaps you’re thinking, ‘How can I possibly get any yoga practice in a room full of children?’
Well, it works like this: some of the children (often they’ve watched Waybuloo!) are naturally interested in doing what Mum is doing and I will encourage them to join in. Others watch and apparently recreate the class at home. My son, who comes along too, often plays with his cars, eats rice cakes and generally enjoys playing with his friends.
Meanwhile, I teach a ‘normal’ yoga class, focussing on areas of the body/mind common to many parents – aching shoulders, backs, tiredness, emotional ups and downs, anxiety…
Personally, yoga and the deeper philosophy that underpins it, help me parent my three children in a more positive, responsive and calm way and that’s what I hope to get across in class.
Why not come along and see what you think?
