Thai Massage training

Mudita is sympathetic, unselfish, or vicarious joy — taking delight in other people’s well-being.

Mudita Therapeutic Thai Massage Training is the culmination of over a decade spent studying and exploring the incredible tools and techniques of Thai Massage therapeutically. I am excited to offer this course to practitioners wanting to work deeply and effectively to bring healing, ease and balance to people with complex bodies (ie, most humans).

Unlike many Thai Massage courses, this will not simply teach you a set sequence; there will be plenty of subtle body work, and therapeutic practises with real-life applications. In-person sessions will be explorative, so that you will understand the why as well as the how, in order to offer tailored and effective therapeutic treatments.

Course structureThe course will be a rigorous, 200hr+ training, combining online theory and in-person, practical sessions.

Teaching will be over six months, with six weekends of in-person training and online theory webinars with regular tests for learning, peer-to-peer practice and 1-2-1 tutorials. You will then have four months in which to complete 30 case studies.
An extra practice weekend is scheduled during this time to check in and hone your skills, followed by a final written theory and assessed practical exam (giving a therapeutic massage) to gain the full diploma.

Case studies: With explicit guidance on how to offer in-depth consultations and how to treat therapeutically and effectively. It will be possible to offer these case studies within a multi-mat ‘clinic’ session, where recipients will be offered free treatments, as a means of supporting community and those who would not usually be able to access complementary healthcare.

Final Exam: November 28 2027. This will include a written theory test as well as a hands-on assessed treatment.

Applicants: Should have: some existing understanding of bodywork and have come to me for treatments/workshops to understand what I offer and how it differs from other modalities; a clear desire to work therapeutically and responsively to different bodies.

A pre-requisite for completion of the course is a recognised training in anatomy, as this will be needed for insurance purposes (if needed, there are many online courses).

The cohort will be limited to 8 people, to ensure a high quality of teaching and the most potential for deep learning.

I have considered carefully how to teach and structure this course so that it follows a more matriarchal philosophy than other education models: I aim to share my time, energy and skills generously, for what I feel is a reasonable rather than extractive fee. The ‘classroom’ will be non-hierarchical and respectful – each participant also brings their own experience and skillset to share so that, as a group, we can compassionately challenge each other and benefit from collective learning.

Cost: £1900
Deposit £450. Balance £1450, which can be paid in full or agreed instalments due before course starts.

Instalment plan also available. After deposit, 6 payments of £255 due before each of 6 in-person learning weekends.
